Akshay Kumar starrer 'Kesari' shoot to resume after 10 days

A huge fire broke out on the sets of Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari in Wai district of Maharashtra on Tuesday. The unit had been shooting there for the climax and final portions of the film with Akshay. While the actor had left for the day after completing the shoot, the rest of the crew members were present on the sets. This mishap occurred just 10 days before the team was about to wrap the movie’s schedule after shooting the climax which involves the Battle of Saragarhi.

A source informed that the battle sequence has a few shots amidst bomb explosions. Apparently, one such mistimed explosion took place leading to a major fire on the sets of the film.

While the movie’s leading lady, Parineeti Chopra, is currently on a vacation in Australia, the other members of the cast and crew were unscathed by the mishap. While there were no casualties, a huge part of the set, where the historical drama was being shot, was gutted. The source said, “Though the explosion was a massive one, not a single person from the crew was injured. The shoot has been put on hold for 10 days. Everybody is shaken because of the fire. The remaining portion of the shoot will be completed after the damaged set is rebuilt.”

Given that 10 days’ shoot is pending and the team is feeling low after the sets were gutted, the lead actor had gone to Wai on Wednesday. “Akshay was stunned to hear the news of the fire. He went to check the damage and also boost the morale of the team as they are still disturbed by the incident,” said our source.
