After months of speculations, Sara Ali Khan has been confirmed as the lead star opposite Varun Dhawan for the remake of Coolie No 1. The film goes on floors by August.

Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan, who made her debut last year with Abhishek Kapoor’s box office dud Kedarnath and went on feature in Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster featuring Ranveer Singh, is set to star in the remake of Coolie No 1 alongside Varun Dhawan, the makers announced Wednesday.

“It’s official... After 25 years David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani come back together to adapt their timeless comedy, Coolie No 1. The film starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan begins shoot this August,” a statement from the makers read.

There were speculations that the actor, who made her Bollywood debut with 2018’s Kedarnath”, would be playing the female lead opposite Varun Dhawan in the modern adaptation of the hit comedy.

The original, which starred Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead, was directed by Varun’s father, filmmaker David Dhawan. David is returning to direct the new movie, which is produced by Vashu Bhagnani who also backed the 1995 film.

After Judwaa 2, the film marks David and Varun’s second collaboration.

While Varun’s latest release was Kalank, Sara was last seen in Simmba.

Salman Khan Upcoming Start Movie "INSHALLAH"

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has confirmed that he will be starring in the Hindi adaptation of another hit Korean film, titled Veteran. The actor, who is currently awaiting the release of Bharat, which is also an official remake of 2014 Korean drama Ode to My Father, said his brother-in-law, actor-producer Atul Agnihotri, has acquired the rights of Veteran.

The 2015 Korean film revolves around a detective, who hunts down a young and successful man running a crime syndicate. "I am doing 'Veteran'. Atul has rights. It's a nice film. We will do this film after Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film," Salman Khan said in an interview while promoting his production Notebook.

The 53-year-old star will start working on the third installment of Dabangg, followed by Bhansali's Inshallah, that will see him teaming up with Alia Bhatt for the first time. Salman is currently busy promoting his home production film Notebook featuring newcomers Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl. It releases on March 29.

 Meghna had previously teased that fans can expect to see a completely new Deepika in the film. “You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika,” the filmmaker said at a Chennai event. “There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika.”

Laxmi has expressed her approval of Deepika being cast in the role. Speaking with Hindustan Times, she had said, “I am so happy that Deepika is playing the role. I have no right to judge her. How can I judge someone for something which I can’t do? She has played wonderful characters on screen and I believe she will give her best.”

The actor had recently shared a behind-the-scenes image from a table read session from the film, which also showed her co-actor, Vikrant Massey, in a bearded look. “All things are ready if our mind is so,” Deepika quoted William Shakespeare in the caption.

 Calling Chhapaak an ‘important film’, the actor had said at the recent Zee Cine Awards, “It’s so ironic that on the day of Holi, I am off to Delhi for the shooting of Chapaak. We will start shooting it on Monday. It’s a very important film and I feel that the story which we are showcasing in our film needs to be told.”

Chhapaak is Deepika’s first film since the massive Padmaavat. Vikrant recently appeared in Amazon Prime Video’s gangster drama Mirzapur and delivered an acclaimed performance in Konkona Sen Sharma’s A Death in the Gunj.

Abhishek Varman's upcoming directorial Kalank is one of the most awaited films of 2019. The film is set in the 1940s and has an ensemble cast of Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt. The co-producer of Kalank, Karan Johar took to his Instagram page and shared a beautiful still from the film with a heartfelt note. The filmmaker promised the fans that he will unravel the film from Thursday.

Saqib Saleem on playing Mohinder Amarnath in Ranveer Singh's '83'

Kabir Khan is leaving no stone unturned in the casting process of '83 which is based on Indian cricket team's first win at World Cup 1983. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the role of then captain Kapil Dev. The makers have roped in Saqib Saleem to play Mohinder Amarnath, who was declared the Man of the Match in the finals. Saqib had shared a photo of Amarnath and shared his happiness by writing, "Like every Indian, I love cricket but maybe a little more because I was training to be a cricketer when I was young. I met Jimmy sir on the sets of Dishoom for the first time. At that time I had never imagined that I would be playing him in a film based on the 1983 World Cup. I was fascinated by the stories he shared not knowing that I would have to be him in them."

When a tabloid asked Saqib, how he was finalized to play Mohinder in '83, the handsome actor stated, "I requested Kabir to cast me. He wanted to see my cricketing skills so I had to give a screen test." Saqib further revealed that he started training for the role eight weeks back under the guidance of former cricketer Balvinder Sandhu. The actor revealed that they are working on the batting style, bowling action and trying to get the mannerisms right.

Talking about Ranveer, Saqib further said, "Even he is attending the training session. His focus is to get Kapil Dev’s bowling action right. He is leading from the front even during training, and I can say that he is doing it well."

'83 is slated to release on April 10, 2020.

In T-Series and BR Studios’ next Pati Patni Aur Woh, an adaptation of BR Chopra’s 1978 film with the same title, Kartik sports a slightly mature look replete with a chevron style moustache in the film. The look has been styled by styled by designer Niharika Khan and hairstylist Hakim Aalim.

Speaking about Kartik’s never-seen-before avatar, producer Bhushan Kumar says, "To essay his character in Pati Patni Aur Woh, Kartik has donned a new look which is bound to surprise everyone. All of us on the on the set were taken aback to see this transformation of Kartik from a boy-next-door to a mature individual. He looks visibly different from the characters he has played in the past. I am sure this decision on his part to experiment with his look will be liked by his fans.”

Producer Juno Chopra adds, “Kartik’s new look is sure to surprise everyone. Especially because no one has ever seen him in this look before.
