Current News: After World Bank, Now China Bank Pulls Out Of Amaravati

The exit of World Bank from Amaravati project was a huge major setback for Andhra Pradesh and now the state received yet another jolt. China Investment Bank too pulled out of the project in a fresh development. This bank was supposed to invest $200 million.

The ruling YSRCP government is alleging that an insider-trading happened in the Amaravati project and so one by one bank are walking out. Earlier World Bank has suspected corruption in Amaravati project and so it proposed to send its experts team for an independent probe in the allegations. But the YSRCP government declined the World Bank's probe and so the latter dropped their investment plan.

China Investment bank was supposed to do a joint venture with the World Bank in Amaravati. A week after World Bank pulling out, China Investment Bank too gave a second thought and finally, they too quit the project.

TDP is worried that Amaravati's brand image is getting damaged because of reputed banks dropping their investment plan. YSRCP government has hit back at TDP that just because of the previous government's corruption, banks are not showing interest in putting their money.

Political News: Andhra Pradesh gets new Governor

Former minister and BJP's senior leader from Odisha Vishwabhushan Harichandan has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Vishwabhushan will be taking charge from ESL Narasimhan soon. Vishwabhushan is a loyalist to the party and is in the good books of PM Narendra Modi. Hence, Modi has decided to honor Vishwabhushan with a constitutional post. While the names of Sushma Swaraj were heard for AP Governor post, Sushma had then denied the rumors.

Nearly serving as 10 years as the Governor, ESL Narasimhan will soon be relieved as AP Governor.  And he will be replaced by Vishwabhushan.

Back in December 2009, Narasimhan, who was the Governor of Chattisgarh, had taken additional charge as the Governor of United Andhra Pradesh on 27 December 2009 and he was later made the Governor formally on 23rd January in 2010. Since then, Narasimhan has been serving as AP Governor. Even after  Andhra Pradesh is bifurcated in 2014, Narasimhan continued to serve as the Governor for both the states. On June 13, 2017, ESL Narasimhan has set a new record by becoming the longest-serving Governor of Andhra Pradesh. He had broken Governor Krishna Kant's record and thus Narasimhan has become the 7th longest-serving Governor in India.

Meanwhile, Chattisgarh has also got a new Governor. Sushri Anasuya has been nominated as the Governor of Chattisgarh.

Current News: AP New Excise Policy: Wines only till 6 PM?

Current News: AP New Excise Policy: Wines only till 6 PM?

Andhra Pradesh government which is set to bring new excise policy sometime in October is considering to run wine shops only till 6 PM. This is as part of their strategy to completely ban sales of liquor in the state which is also a promise made by AP CM YS Jagan during the election campaign.

However as things don't happen overnight, the YSRCP government wants to bring down the sales initially and then eventually abolish it. Currently, wine shops are running from 10 AM to 10 PM all over the state. Sales after 6 PM pick up a lot and so the new excise policy might target this prime time. The other aspect of this policy is to reduce the number of liquor brands. As of today, there are about 340 brands producing different flavors of liquor and a study suggested that many brands don't register proper sales.

But this strategy has many complications too. First is, the government will lose a chunk of revenue and they should also keep in mind that AP is going through severe financial stress.

The second is as the government is planning to run wine shops on its own instead of handing over to private persons. This could lead to the rise of the black market and it will put an additional burden on the excise department and officials. This policy is still under thoughtfulness and has a long way to go.

For now, Jagan has ordered the closure of all belt shops in the state and excise officials are busy following the CM's orders.

Political Paunch: Anyone who doesnt vote for me should benefit

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan has made some interesting comments at the Collector's Conference held today at Praja Vedika. Highlighting YSRCP's election manifesto, Jagan said, "I was asking a few senior officials whom I know before coming to this conference, what practices should be followed to get people's attention."

Adding, "My government has two main themes. One is transparent and friendly government and the second is the implementation of 'Nava Ratnalu' from election manifesto. Irrespective of the political party and even people who did not vote for me should also get the government benefits. Nothing matters, every deserving family should get it and that responsibility is on you all," stated Jagan.

The AP CM also advised all the Collectors to keep a big smile on their face when people approach them with their problems. "When a common man tries to reach to you, try to be positive and make sure their problem is duly addressed. When you leave this district, leave with a mark of your work. That's I needed," said Jagan.

Flash News: NRI woman donates Rs 7 cr worth land to AP govt

Andhra Pradesh is going through severe financial stress. Despite this, the government wants to implement 'Nava Ratnalu' which is a subsidy scheme to the poor. As promised, CM YS Jagan is taking measures to implement at the earliest and now he got a little boost. A woman has reportedly donated Rs 7 crore worth land to the AP government.

But who is this woman and why did she donate? This lady is identified as Padala Kasthuri and she lives in London. Kasthuri hails from West Godavari district and she owns one acre and 10 cents of land as a remembrance of her son. Very recently Kasthuri visited her home town and decided to donate the land to the government. She met minister Cherukuvada Sri Ranganath Raju and conveyed her intentions. The minister immediately sought CM Jagan's appointment.

Getting to know about, Jagan too met her and was pleased by her gesture to donate land which is worth crore of Rupees. Jagan along with YSRCP ministers and MLAs felicitated her and appreciated her kindness.

New CM: Jagans Victory Speech: Nenu Vinna...Nenu Unna!

In his victory speech, YS Jaganmohan Reddy claimed people of AP increased his responsibility with the faith they have shown on him by voting for YSR Congres
s in such huge numbers.

Addressing media in Tadepalli, YS Jagan said: 'Grateful to people for offering a great victory. This is a new chapter in AP History. This victory is possible only because of God's will and People's blessings. My responsibility increased now. People have voted for credibility. In less than a year, I will establish myself as a Good Chief Minister. I would work according to the aspirations of the people. Will implement Nava Rathanalu Poll Promise. I had seen the hardships of everyone during Padayatra...Nenu Vinna, Nenu Unna. My swearing-in ceremony will happen on May 30th'.

By the end of the counting process, YSR Congress could be winning not less than 150 MLA Seats and 23 MP Seats. Who would have anticipated this kind of result for 2019 AP Elections? It shows how badly people wanted TDP to lose power and how determined they are to make Jagan the next Chief Minister.

Jagan always wished to rule AP for 30 years at a stretch. Let's only hope he fulfills his dream by establishing himself as a People's Leader..!

Political News: Chandrababu Hits Six: To hike pension to Rs. 3000 ?

In a changing political narrative and the heat of elections looming over, political parties in Andhra Pradesh are going all out to woo voters with freebies and schemes, if they win and form a government. With YSR Congress President, announcing Rs. 3000 pension for senior citizens last month in Tirupati, AP chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu now has announced that if they win again, they will increase the pensions from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 3000.

The TDP government already hiked the pension from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000, this year with an eye on elections. Now, the TDP chief has gone further and promised to decrease the age eligibility for senior citizens so that others also can benefit from the state's pension scheme. Not stopping at that, Chandrababu also is planning to announce free houses in 300 sq.yards for the poor where the government will take up the onus of constructing these houses.

According to TDP sources, this was told to all the party members in a teleconference. Furthermore, the TDP chief also said that TDP leaders should highlight how Jagan becoming CM of AP could turn out to be a disaster as he could grab people's hard-earned lands and give way to land encroachments. "KCR wants Jagan in AP because he has understood that Hyderabad's investors are looking at our state. He wants a weak government like Jagan's so that Hyderabad regains its investors who will stay put in the city if AP doesn't develop. This is exactly what KCR wants," he told his partymen.

Stoking the "Andhra" sentiment again, Chandrababu said that the victory of even one YSRCP MLA or MP means that "we, the people of Andhra are letting KCR and KTR rule us," he said, adding that people's pension, water to drought-hit regions and farmlands and every other benefit will come to a grinding halt if Jagan comes to power. Looks like the ruling TDP is going all out to ensure that it retains power this time to complete all the pending works it began five years ago.

Politics: Ali Joins YCP, Wishes To See Jagan As CM!

Comedian Ali joined YSR Congress Party in the presence of YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday. Speaking to media, Ali told: 'People believe there will be developed if Jagan becomes Chief Minister. When I met him in the past, He invited Me to join YCP but I took some time to take the decision. In 1999, I joined TDP. 20 Years later, I came out of that party and joined YCP. My goal is to ensure YS Jagan becomes the next CM of AP with a huge majority'.

Quizzed about from where he would be contesting, The Comedian clarified: 'Jagan gave assurances to many leaders during Padayatra. So, Chances of Me getting ticket have been ruled out. That is why I won't contest in 2019 Polls, but will campaign for the party. If Jagan offers Me either Rajahmundry or Vijayawada ticket, I would surely contest'.

Regarding his previous meeting with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, Ali made it clear that it was done just to convey greetings on the eve of New Year.

When asked why he preferred YCP over Jana Sena, Ali maintained: 'Friendship and Politics are different. Pawan Kalyn is a good friend of mine. If PK wins, I consider it as my victory. I am in good terms with leaders of all the parties but people are saying - 'Jagan Ravali, Jagan Kavali'. That is why I decided to support YCP'.

Political News: East Guntur Locked For Comedian Ali?

It looks like the stage is well set for comedian Ali's political debut as the senior comedian has finally decided to contest from any assembly that Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu will offer to him. And the actor has already agreed to one, say political observers.

Though TDP has earlier offered the Guntur MLA ticket to Ali, he is said to have demanded Rajahmundry (his native place) MLA ticket. But now, Ali is most likely to contest from East Guntur assembly constituency where the YSR Congress is exerting its stronghold.

In the 2014 election, actually, TDP lost this seat to the YSR Congress contestant Md Mustafa Shaik in a margin of 5,000 votes. At that time, many felt that the Muslim candidate fielded by Jagan got all the advantages over TDP's Giridhara Rao. And now, the ruling party wants to field a Muslim here and hence Ali, they say. Already the movie actor is said to have rented a flat there and started building rapport with local cadres.

However, the only thing one has to be seen is, will Guntur East people vote a newcomer and a non-local to power here?

Politics: Watch Mahanayakudu know about me - Babu to Modi

In almost all of his recent public meetings, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attacks Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ignoring special category status to the state. The other day, while addressing a public meeting at the Kodumuru in Kurnool district, Chandrababu Naidu said: "Modi is trying to frighten all of them who are speaking against him. But, I'm not going to go back to compromise when it comes to the interests of people."

During the same speech, Babu made comments which drew mixed reactions from Internet users and it did not go down well with netizens. AP CM advised Modi to watch the recent biopic of NTR, Mahanayakudu, to learn about him. Babu said, "If you want to know about me, watch Mahanayakudu movie. Remember that it was me who fought against the center in 1982 and showed the power of Telugu people."

This statement has become a kind of laughing stock on social media and some netizens asked 'Is Babu promoting the flop film Mahanayakudu or is he trying to promote his own image by asking Modi to watch the film.' Making use of the film based on NTR to promote his own character, played by Rana Daggubati, attracts nothing but a small cheer from TDP cadre. Yes, it is definitely time to rev up the attack on Modi but it's nice to attack him more politically which Naidu is well known for. On another hand, some reports are in circulation that TDP blocked Mahanayakudu film tickets for 50 days in AP.

Andhra News: AP Capital Will Be Shifted From Amavarati If!

TDP Leaders have been spreading the speculations that AP Capital will be shifted from Amaravati if the current ruling party fails to retain power. Rumors are in circulation that YS Jagan will move the capital to Prakasam or Ongole if YCP forms the government. Is it really possible for any party to change the location of capital at this stage?

YSR Congress Party alleges TDP launched bad propaganda to create a panic situation in Guntur and Krishna Districts for political mileage. They say, TDP Leaders were worried about the anti-incumbency and hence such speculations have been spread to make the voters of these two districts support them in next elections.

In 2014 Elections, Telugu Desam won 12 out of 15 Assembly Seats in Guntur District and 11 out of 16 Assembly Seats in Krishna District. People of these two districts got benefitted with the land rates touching all-time high after the announcement of AP Capital. If the capital shifts from Amaravati, Real Estate Boom in Krishna and Guntur Districts will collapse. The ploy seems to create a panic situation conveying that their future will be in danger if TDP loses power.

It's impossible to shift the capital from Amaravati region. Why because, Farmers have offered their lands with the hope of benefitting from the capital establishment in their region. People of Krishna and Guntur will revolt if any party plans to shift. Why would Jagan take such a huge risk? It's a common sense thing!

Political News: Modi Visit in Guntur on 10th, in Vizag on 16th

PM Narendra Modi's tour in Andhra Pradesh has been confirmed. AP BJP president Kanna Lakshmi Narayana has announced that Modi would visit AP twice in February and confirmed his tour schedule. As per the details, Modi will visit Guntur-Vijayawada on Feb 10th and he will visit Visakhapatnam on Feb 16th.

Kanna also confirmed that BJP national president Amit Shah will be coming to Andhra Pradesh thrice in Feb. He said Amit Shah would visit Vizianagaram on Feb 4th and Rajahmundry on 21st February and Ongole on 26th Feb. Kanna said Amit Shah would participate in the 'cluster' meetings of the BJP and he would interact with the party cadre. BJP leaders are hoping that the visit of its national leaders Modi and Shah would raise the party's winning prospects in the coming general Lok Sabha polls. It is buzzed that Modi may make crucial announcement to AP during his visit.

While CM Chandrababu Naidu has given a call for massive protests against BJP-led Centre for denying Special Category Status to AP and also not granting Special Railway Zone to Vizag and Steel Plant to Kadapa and even planning to do protest at New Delhi and going to meet President, Modi and Shah's visit to AP on same dates is kicking up a political storm. News: Has Chandrababu Opened Channels With BJP?

Has Chandrababu realized that he has bitten more than he could possibly chew? Is he worried that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come back to power for sure and his romping home to Amaravati this time is a very difficult thing?

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi vehemently criticizing the Andhra Pradesh Government, it is increasingly becoming clear that Modi is not in a mood to forgive Chandrababu. His speeches have become more strident and he has been specifically referring to the ruling party in AP. Chandrababu Naidu feels that as soon as he comes back to power, Modi is going to go after him. He is going to hound Chandrababu Naidu and initiate cases against his colleagues. On the other hand, his coming back to power in AP is becoming more and more difficult. He is worried that YSRCP will defeat him fare and square. Both the BJP and Jana Sena, which helped Chandrababu in 2014  are now his arch rivals.  Without them, coming back to power is very difficult. An alliance with the Congress might not actually help him.

So, the latest is that Chandrababu is now trying to make friends with the BJP again. He is sending feelers and is making overtures to the BJP. Despite public condemnation of the BJP, he is keen to mend fences with Modi. Some of his businessmen friends are said to be negotiating with the BJP.

Political News: See How Chandrababu Is Controlling Media

With elections fast approaching and with the party's popularity graph fast plummeting, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is a worried man. He is said to be burning his midnight oil to revive the party's popularity. He is also worried about the media coverage of Telugu Desam Government and the party news. He is said to have appointed a special team to monitor the media coverage to the party. These staff members will count the number of minutes the TV channel has covered the TDP news. They will also monitor if the speech of Chandrababu Naidu is covered in full or in part. If the speech is only partly covered, a phone call goes to the media house threatening to stop the advertisements to the channel or newspaper. Many channels are being forced to give more coverage to Chandrababu Naidu.

On his part, Chandrababu Naidu is addressing at least three major programmes every day. Each speech extends to nearly one hour. At this rate, every media house has to give at least three hours of coverage to the TDP. At least three major channels are giving almost round-the-clock coverage to the TDP and the CM. Some more channels are now being forced to fall in line. Their advertisement related payments would be released only when the TDP is satisfied with the coverage is given. This is Chandrababu Naidu's style of managing and controlling the media.

Politcal News: Is CBN A Prime Ministerial Candidate?

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu declared UPA Government will implement Farm Loan Waiver across the country in 2019.

TDP promised Farm Loan Waiver during 2014 Polls. Farmers in AP alone could say how well the poll promise has been implemented. Many Farmers cried foul over their exclusion from the list of beneficiaries. Even the beneficiaries received money in 3 installments so far. Farm Loan Waiver offered by State Government is somewhat close to the interest Farmers have to pay for years-long delay. One Time Settlement could have been very useful for the Farmers.

As the General Elections will be happening within the next 4-5 months, Chandrababu Naidu has been using the Farm Loan Waiver for the sake of votes. He tries to convey that Non-BJP Government at the Centre will implement the farm loan waiver in all the states. How could Chandrababu make such a big poll promise on behalf of UPA? Is he a Prime Ministerial Candidate?

Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has recently told Farm Loan Waiver hurts the economy. Instant TDP Supremo aware of it?

Centre says no to Special Status for AP, again

As unyielding as it sounds, the Centre has again reiterated that it is not possible to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. In a reply to TDP MP K. Ravindra Kumar, the Centre said that it had provided a special package through special assistance as suggested by the 14th Finance Commission.

The 14th Finance Commission restrictions do not allow for a Special Category Status, it said, after which the House was adjourned over ruckus created due to the Rafale scam. Telugu Desam Party MPs have been protesting outside the Parliament, demanding a rightful share for Andhra Pradesh as promised in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

However, with Centre having a tough stance against Andhra Pradesh after the Telugu Desam Party pulled out from NDA, its demands have fallen on deaf ears. The protests by MPs have not had any effect on the ongoing Parliament session as it the current storm in the Parliament is centered around the Rafale scam.
