Senior doctors at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) will boycott all their duties in the hospital for an hour from Tuesday demanding construction of the new building within the campus.
The senior doctors from the hospital on Monday submitted the strike notice and a memorandum highlighting their demands to OGH Superintendent Dr B Nagender.The government doctors at OGH had formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC) and for the past 73 days had been holding silent protests demanding that the State government immediately start works related to construction of a new building in the OGH campus.
About four years ago, a team of engineers from JNTU had deemed the old heritage building of OGH as unfit for occupation and recommended for evacuation.
“We will boycott all the elective duties, emergency services, outpatient facilities and emergency facilities from Tuesday for an hour,” OGH JAC members maintained.
