It looks like the controversy over Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s plan of auctioning the ‘original naval uniform’ he wore in Rustom is not going to end any time soon. Lt Col Sandeep Ahlawat, who objected to the use of the word ‘uniform’ for the costume, has reportedly sent them a legal notice for the same. Moreover, he’s got 20 other individuals — including 11 serving Army officers and seven retired officers — as signatories to send the notice to Akshay and Twinkle.
The notice states that Twinkle and Akshay were ‘advised to desist and cease from passing off a piece of costume as an original Naval uniform. It further states that they had remained adamant in refusing to take down the offensive phraseology. Calling upon them to stop the auction of “Akshay Kumar’s Rustom Naval Officer
Uniform”, the notice sums up saying that failing this, Lt Col Ahlawat and other signatories will be constrained to take appropriate legal action without further notice.
We tried contacting Akshay, but he was unavailable for comment.
