Short honeymoon in Dubai for Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor

Newly-wedded couple Himesh Reshammiya and Sonia Kapoor flew off to Dubai on Saturday night for a short honeymoon. The two, who were reportedly in a relationship since 2006, tied the knot following Hindu rituals on Saturday at 1.30 am. Only the families of the composer-singer-actor and the actress and their closest friends were present for the simple Gujarati wedding that ended at about 3.30 am.

Reshammiya’s son from his previous marriage, Swayam, was also present for the wedding that took place on the terrace of Oberoi Sky Heights, where the Reshammiya reside, and a mandap was put up for the purpose.

While the date was finalized recently, we hear HR’s closest friends were told only two days before (on May 9). A mix of Gujarati and Punjabi cuisine was chosen for the occasion. The couple will plan a reception for their industry friends after their return.

The newlyweds will have a short honeymoon as Himesh has lined up his next production, for which the prep begins this month. He was previously married to Komal, and the two were officially divorced last July after two decades of marriage.
