After Longtime, Tamil Hero Gets Good Openings in Telugu

After the very long time, Vishal has a strong reason to celebrate as his film has opened well in Telugu. While his Pandem Kodi ran well in the past, none of his films have reached the Pandem Kodi. Although a few films of him in between (Pooja, Detective) got decent talk, it hasn't really translated into Box Office numbers. But finally, Vishal's latest outing Abhimanyudu was taken off well at the BO.

Despite clashing with Nagarjuna-Ram Gopal Varma's Officer and Raj Tarun's Rajugadu, Abhimanyudu stood number one in the BO numbers.

Taking many by surprise, the Telugu-dubbed version alone grossed Rs 2 Crore world-wide i.e a worldwide share of 1.14 Crore. In the Telugu states alone, the film registered 1.03 Crore Share on an opening day. It's heard that the Saturday and Sunday figures are also equally good given that the talk for Officer and Rajugadu is not so favorable.

Trade analysts say that Abhimanyudu is heading towards crossing Vishal's Pandem Kodi numbers and may emerge as the star's highest grosser in Telugu. Although there is a huge time gap between the release of Pandem Kodi and Abhimanyudu, still breaching the record of his own film after some longtime is a welcome one for Vishal.

Hari, who bankrolled the film in Telugu, is said to be laughing all the way to the bank. He is said to be happy for the good reception of his film at the marquee despite other two straight releases.
