EC's Big Shock To Modi and Shah

Election Commission

Only multi day after Amit Shah kept multi-day with the Law Commission looking for concurrent decisions for Lok Sabha and Assembly, the Election Commission clarified that it isn't conceivable to hold synchronous surveys one year from now. The CEC refered to specialized issues as the explanation behind not ready to gather information.

"We don't have enough VVPATs to gather information," Chief decision magistrate OP Rawat said.

It is assessed that 34 lakh poll units, 26 lakh control units and 27 lakh VVPAT (voter-evident paper review trail) machines would be required. The EC can't put in a request for extra machines without essential lawful structure. This need required changes in the important laws, including revisions to the Constitution.

After the lawful structure authorizes the synchronous surveys, the EC needs to evaluate the extra necessity of EVMs and VVPAT units and present a financial plan to the administration for securing the also required machines and afterward need to put in a request with the producers. Simply after this long technique, the makers will begin the creation. With almost no time for 2019 general decisions, the odds of synchronous surveys look somber.

For learners, Ballot and Control Units of the EVMs will be conveyed by the two PSU producers - Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) and Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL). As of now, the VVPAT conveyance is said to be behind the timetable.
