Its Official: AP is the most liveable state in India

Andhra Pradesh topped the 'Ease of Living' index in the country, leaving behind metropolises like New Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

According to the rankings released by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Andhra Pradesh has topped in implementation of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) with 65.24 per cent, followed by Odisha (59.17 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (54.32 per cent) and Telangana (52.39 per cent) in the rankings awarded to States and Union Territories (UTs).

The first round of analysis covered 111 cities across the country. During a meeting on the 'Ease of Living Index' held in New Delhi recently, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri presented the award to Municipal Administration Director of Government of AP, K. Kanna Babu.

The Union government hopes that this scheme will lead to a healthy competition between cities based on these rankings.
