Stree in Telugu: Samantha or Niharika?

In the last few years, most of the South Indian movies are getting remade in Bollywood. And, at the same time, our directors are not impressed with their content and stopped to remake Hindi films now. Very hard, a Hindi film is remade in Tollywood and at present, Adivi Sesh and Shivani Rajasekhar is part of such rare film, a remake to Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Two States'.

Apart from that, a leading producer is keen to remake a recent Bollywood film 'Stree', that was released to positive talk last week. It's heard that one Tollywood producer has grabbed the remake rights of Stree, which's made on a budget of 24 Crores and went on to collect a gross of 150 Crores. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy features Raj Kumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. Telugu filmmakers Raj and DK made this film.

Now that the Telugu producer purchased the remake rights of Stree, he's on the lookout for an actor and actress for the Telugu film. Since the female role has got more prominence in the film, Tollywood's golden lady Samantha is said to be the front-runner to play Shraddha's role. If Samantha turns down the offer, the makers are likely to approach Mega actress Niharika Konidela.

But, the producer feels that only Samantha can do justice to that role and also given her popularity, she'll be able to fetch immense craze for the project. Her recent film U-Turn proves that. The stardom of Samantha can bring in audiences to theaters while Niharika is still struggling to make a mark.

So, the producer is making all the efforts to convince Samantha. If and only if Samantha Akkineni denies, that producer may go with Niharika.
