Huge Competition for this seat in TDP

When we speak about Telangana election in 2014, TDP-BJP alliance swept the majority of assembly segments in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. However, most of them switched their loyalties to TRS party later. Those victories prove the potential of TDP in the GHMC region- particularly in constituencies like Kukatpally, Jubilee Hills, Serilingampally, Uppal and Rajendra Nagar.

Considering the settler votes and a strong TDP vote bank, the Kukatpally assembly segment is seeing a massive competition within the party and it's considered to handover a sure-shot victory to TDP. Apart from many seniors, industrialists and educationists are quite keen to grab Telugu Desham party's ticket for Kukatpally segment.

The party leaders who're expecting TDP's ticket for this constituency include senior leader & politburo member E Peddi Reddy, local corporator Mandhadi Srinivasa Rao, M Krishna Goud, Madhava Ranga Rao, Padma Choudhary, CH Hari Chand, and Subhash Yadav. Also, there's a demand in the local cadre that Kalyan Ram, son of Late Harikrishna, should contest from this assembly segment. Some of them are said to be directly lobbying for this ticket with TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

In 2009, Lok Satta founder Jaya Prakash Narayan won Kukatpally seat while TDP's candidate Madhavaram Krishna won it in 2014. Later in 2015, Madhavaram joined the ruling TRS and he's now fighting the same constituency on TRS party ticket.

Also, there is the huge demand for TDP ticket in Jubilee Hills and Serilingampally. The presence of settlers is bound to influence the election verdict in assembly segments of GHMC. In the aftermath of TDP forming an alliance with Congress and Telangana CM KCR targeting Chandrababu Naidu in his election campaigning, it will be very interesting to see how they (settlers) vote in Hyderabad.
