At least 832 people have lost their lives after a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake resulted in a devastating Tsunami hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi a couple of days ago. But the Vice President says over a thousand bodies could be recovered from the concrete and lumber that blanketed the entire island.
Official figures reveal that the earthquake-tsunami has claimed 821 lives in Palu and another 11 people have been confirmed dead in Donggala. Nearly 540 people were hospitalized with serious injuries. This is said to be one of the deadliest natural disasters ever recorded in the picturesque island nation. Relief operations are being carried out slowly due to power shortage and challenging conditions for transport.
