Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands today to mark the 75th anniversary of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose's declaration of the formation of the Azad Hind government in 1943.
Modi on his visit congratulated the people of Car Nicobar for overcoming the impact of 2014 Tsunami. He also said that the government is working to provide better facilities to people in the Andamans. Giving assurance to the people PM Modi said that their security is one of the top priorities of the Centre.
PM Modi on his visit interacted with Tribal Chiefs in Car Nicobar. He will also inaugurate an industrial training institute at Arong. The prime minister will later lay a wreath at the Martyrs Column at Port Blair and will visit the Cellular Jail in the city. PM Modi will hoist the high mast flag at South Point, Port Blair. He will pay floral tributes at the statue of Subhash Chandra Bose at Marina Park in Port Blair.
Earlier in the day, the PM paid tributes to Tsunami victims at a memorial in Car Nicobar. After addressing a public meeting, PM Modi interacted with people at Car Nicobar.
