On January 26, India will celebrate its 70th Republic day. On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect, declaring the nation a "sovereign democratic republic.
While there is a national holiday declared on this day, Indians mark the day by hosting the national flag and remembering the work of our freedom fighters and our founding fathers.
