Breaking News: Salman Khan wants Katrina in "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2" while Bhansali is keen on having Aishwarya or Deepika

19 years after 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are all set to team up on a new romantic film.

Prerna Singh, CEO of Bhansali Productions, recently confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are reuniting after 19 years for a love story. Their collaboration is the best thing that can happen in terms of story-telling.”

Ever since the announcement has been made, several actresses' names have been doing the rounds for the lead part opposite Salman. Now as per the latest report in Pinkvilla, Salman Khan is keen on having Katrina Kaif as his co-star. However, Bhansali wants to cast Deepika Padukone instead, considering his longtime association with the actress.

While there has been no official confirmation on the casting of the film's leading lady, grapevine also suggests that Bhansali is making efforts to approach and convince Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to come on board.

Earlier it was reported that Salman had also recommended Anushka Sharma's name to Bhansali. Names like that of Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor have also been doing the rounds but sources claim that Bhansali feels both of them will look relatively young opposite, Salman.

It is also to be noted that when Priyanka Chopra recently appeared on 'Koffee With Karan 6', she revealed that she is currently in talks with both Bhansali and Vishal Bhardwaj. So, we must not yet rule out her name from the list.

The film which has been tentatively titled 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 2' will go on floors in the second half of the year sometime around September, right after Salman finishes shooting for 'Dabangg 3'. It would be jointly produced by Bhansali and Salman. The director will also score the music himself.
