Watch Video: Ranveer Singh goes down on one knee for Deepika Padukone at Filmfare awards, asks if she is proud of him

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone kissed onstage at the 64th Filmfare Awards on Saturday in Mumbai.


Actor Ranveer Singh went down on his knee to receive his the Best Actor award from wife and actor Deepika Padukone at the 64th Filmfare Awards on Saturday. In a viral video, Ranveer and Deepika are onstage with Ayushmann Khurrana when he goes down on one knee as Deepika hands him the trophy.

“This Black Lady (award) is very special to me, but this lady (Deepika) is the most special lady to have ever happened to me, I love you, are you proud of me?” Ranveer said as he kissed Deepika onstage. He shared the Best Actor (Critics) award with Ayushmann, who won it for Andhadhun.


Ranveer won the award for playing Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Dedicating the award to his grandmother, Ranveer said, “I dedicate this award to my Nani as it was my nani as a favorite character. One day I called my sister and asked what Nani is doing, she said that nani is on terrace doing her favorite thing that is watching Padmavaat.”


 To celebrate her husband’s win, Deepika also shared a special picture of Ranveer, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal partying together after the event. “All my favs in one frame,” she wrote with the picture.


 Deepika lost to Alia Bhatt and Neena Gupta in the Best Actor (Female) category. Alia won in the popular category for Raazi while Neena won in the critic's category for Badhaai Ho.


 Alia’s Raazi won five awards including Best Film and Best Director. While Meghna Gulzar won Best Director, her father Gulzar won the Best Lyricist award for song Ae Watan. Arijit Singh won the Best Singer for lending his voice for the same song.

Vicky Kaushal won Best Actor In A Supporting Role for Sanju. He also made his debut as a performer at the Filmfare stage and paid a tribute to actor Amitabh Bachchan. His performance was choreographed by Shiamak Davar.

Badhaai Ho also won several awards. Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri won Best Actor in Supporting Role awards in male and female categories. Akshat Ghildial won Best Dialogue Award for the film. Ayushmann Khurana starrer and Sriram Raghavan’s directorial venture Andhadhun won the Critics’ Award for Best Film.

The star-studded night was attended by Sonam Kapoor, Jahnvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Sunny Leone, Kajol, Arjun Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar among many others.
