Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday filed his nomination in Varanasi Lok Sabha Constituency. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and AIADMK Leader O Panneerselvan were present when PM filed his nomination.
If the reports in a section of media are to be believed, Over 1 lakh liters of drinking water was used to wash the roads of Varanasi for the sake of PM Narendra Modi's tour. This happened when more than 30 percent of the population in Varanasi don't even receive piped water. 400 Labourers worked tirelessly for cleaning the roads using 40 Water Tankers. There is severe criticism on BJP for wasting drinking water in such a manner.
