Actors News: Acid Test For Anil Ravipudi

Mahesh Babu is one of the rare actors that we can find in the Indian film industry. From one film to another film, he can show variation in his character pretty easily but that has been missing from him in the recent past. Not everyone is successful in understanding Mahesh Babu's caliber and it is resulting in the audiences coming up with complaints regarding his selection of scripts and the characters.

As Mahesh Babu's new movie Maharshi released yesterday, people started comparing the film with the actor's earlier movie Srimanthudu. Before the release, Mahesh to admitted that the audiences will find a connection between Maharshi and Srimanthudu but tried to justify it saying that the execution will be completely fresh.

Post the release, one can easily understand the intention of Mahesh behind his justification but at the same time, one will easily doubt the ability of a director in understanding Mahesh Babu as an actor. There are multiple shades to Mahesh Babu but the directors are only trying to repeat something that Mahesh excelled in.

Koratala Siva too almost did the same but he cleverly managed it by picking two different stories with two different backdrops. But, Maharshi only tried to repeat what Mahesh did in Srimanthudu and it just did not go well with audiences as people always expect something fresh and new from Mahesh.

There are other heroes to do films like Maharshi but Mahesh is certainly one and an only hero who can pull off films written only for him. Hence, Anil Ravipudi will now have to carry a huge responsibility in showcasing Mahesh Babu as much different as possible. If he also tries to repeat something that we have already seen in Dookudu or Aagadu, it will be another shortcoming in Mahesh's career.
