Actors News: Will Deepika Padukone finally romance Salman Khan in "Kick 2"?

As per reports in a daily, the makers of 'Kick 2' have approached Deepika Padukone to play the female lead in Salman Khan's film.

Salman Khan has worked with almost all leading actors of Bollywood. Be it Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra Jonas or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene. Moreover, the superstar will also be romancing Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah. But one actor, with whom Salman has not shared screen space is Deepika Padukone. Both of them have often expressed their desire of working with each other but that hasn't happened yet.

Now as per reports in Asian Age, the makers of Kick 2 has approached Deepika to play the female lead in Salman's film. Talking about it, a source stated to the daily, "If you remember, Deepika was the first choice for Kick. But somehow it didn’t work out. Jacqueline was brought in and Kick changed the course of her career."

The source further said, "Deepika can’t play just a typical Salman heroine.  Her role has to be as powerful as Salman’s. Sajid is working on it, injecting heft into the female lead."

Earlier, during an Exclusive interaction with DNA After Hrs, when Salman was asked about not working with Deepika yet, he stated, "Actually even I’m wondering when will I work with Deepika?" The Dabangg actor further said, "No one has come forward to cast me with her. Deepika is a big star, so it has to be worth her while to do a film with me. Right now, there is nothing."

Meanwhile, currently, Salman is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Bharat. While Deepika is filming Chhapaak which is slated to release next year.
