After denying it by calling a bridal shoot, Rakhi Sawant confirms her private wedding affair with a UK-based guy named Ritesh. She made interesting revelations about her love story and wedding.
About a week ago, Rakhi Sawant took to her Instagram page and shared a series of photos wearing a wedding gown with heavy choodas and sindoor on her forehead. This instantly caught everyone's notice and people started speculating the fact that, Rakhi has finally tied the knot. Soon after that, she started sharing photos wearing casual and sexy attire but choodas and sindoor were still a part of it. Initially, Rakhi had denied the fact that she has got married.
She had earlier told Spotboye, "It is not true that I have married. I was just doing a bridal shoot in JW Marriott, last night. There were 2-3 guys involved in the shoot along with me, one of them was an NRI. Why are we actors written about so lightly? If an actress has Mehendi on her hands or a sindoor in her forehead, she is assumed to be married. If an actress visits a hospital, tongues start wagging that either she is planning a baby or having an abortion. But if and when I marry, which I have planned for 2020, I will announce it with fanfare. Yes, today most marriages come with an expiry date. Hence, I am apprehensive."
Now, while interacting with The Times of India and Spotboye, Rakhi confirmed that she has got married to a UK-based guy named Ritesh.
Read on to know what all she has said...
1. On her secret wedding
During an interaction with Spotboye, Rakhi Sawant confirmed that she has indeed tied the knot. She stated, "To begin with, it is right what you guys had reported that my husband is an NRI. Well, his name is Ritesh and he is in the UK. In fact, he has already left. My visa is underway and I will join him. Of course, I shall continue to work whatever I get in India, so will shuttle for that. I always wanted to produce TV shows and I think my long-standing dream will now be fulfilled."
While she told timesofindia.com, "Yes, I got married on July 20. Actually, the main darr gayi thi. I wanted to have a quiet, hidden wedding."
2. Wedding in the presence of the only family
Rakhi revealed it was a private affair and went on to say, "Ritesh and I got married at JW Marriott in Mumbai. He is a Hindu NRI and I am a Christian, so I did a court marriage and had a Catholic wedding. The wedding was intimate with just family members."
3. Shifting her base to the UK?
When asked if she will be moving to the UK, Rakhi said, "Not now. He wants me to continue to work in the industry. He said, ‘Why don’t you make films? I said ok’. My husband works with Donald Trump’s company as an employee."
4. Media shy husband
Rakhi revealed that her husband dislikes media thus she hasn't shared his photos yet. She further said, "Good news toh hai, but mere husband ko media etc pasand nahi. Unko kisi ke saamne aana nahi thha. Shaadi toh family ke beech mein hoti hai, duniya ko thhodi na bulana hota hai!"
She added, "Ritesh is a very private person and does not prefer talking to the media or being seen about much. He is a businessman and a wonderful, sorted man."
5. Her love story
When asked about how she met Ritesh, Rakhi stated, "It's a fab story. He was my fan. He WhatsApp me. Messaging and then talking to him, we became friends with the passage of time. This happened about a year-and-half back. Then, in fact, he proposed if I would like to marry one of his friends. I turned it down politely."
She added, "Dil mein ghanti nahin baji, I told him. He promptly asked, 'Mere liye dil mein ghanti bajti hai kya?' I said I need time to think. As more time rolled by, I realised I was falling in love with Ritesh. And, it was happening so very naturally. Trust me, I met him for the first time only 15 days before our wedding. He came down and I was sure that I had met the right guy."
