Karan Johar feels Ananya Panday is the new Alia Bhatt!

Even before the release of her debut film, Student of the Year 2, Ananya Panday signed her second outing Pati Patni Aur Woh in which she stars alongside Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. Ananya often speaks high of Karan Johar who gave her a big break in Bollywood. Now, Ananya has signed her forthcoming film, Khaali Peeli wherein she will be seen opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film marks director Ali Abbas Zafar's debut as a producer and will be helmed by Maqbool Khan.

As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, it was Karan who was the man behind pursuing Ananya to do Khaali Peeli. Moreover, going by her ever-growing popularity, Karan feels that she is the next Alia Bhatt. Earlier during an interaction with Hindustan Times, Ananya was all praises for Alia. She stated, "But it’s not as if I am trying to imitate or be like someone in particular. Obviously, Alia is a huge source of inspiration. In fact, what I have learned from Alia is that she never claimed to be perfect from the start. She was raw in her first film [Student of The Year; 2012] and then, she grew from there and people could see that evolution."

While she told PTI, "I look up to Alia so much. She has always been my idol. When she came in with ‘Student…’ she was raw and fresh and people saw her grow. I’ve been inspired by her growth."

Meanwhile, Pati Patni Aur Woh is releasing on December 6, 2019.
