Karan Johar took to his Instagram page and got nostalgic about his directorial debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' as it completes 21 years of its release.

It was back in the year 1998 when Karan Johar after acting and becoming an assistant director to Aditya Chopra decided to become a full-time director. Yes, on October 16, 1998, KJo brought a timeless romantic film that has gone down in the history of Indian cinema. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the leading roles and then relatively new actor Rani Mukerji showed she is here to stay and rule.

At the 20 years celebration of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, SRK recalled his reaction to Karan's narration of the film's script. The superstar said, "The story he narrated to me in that hotel, on the steps of Chahat shoot was crap and nonsense. Utterly not like the film you finally saw. He is a man of words so he actually thought he impressed me with that crap story."
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai also had Salman Khan in an extended cameo role.
