Actors Gossip: "Mahabharat" is my most ambitious project to date: Deepika Padukone

In a recent interview, Deepika Padukone opened about the developments within the film.

Even before Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak was out for everybody to observe, the actress had treated her fans by announcing her next project with producer Madhu Mantena, a period drama supported Draupadi from the epic Hindu mythology Mahabharat during which Deepika will play the titular role, giving a fresh perspective to Draupadi and her life because it unfolded.

In a recent interview, Deepika Padukone opened about the developments within the film, "I am not someone who believes in announcing a project to make a buzz," she said. Deepika further added, "I was busy with Chhapaak promotions, so there was no time to take a seat down and discuss [this film]. we've yet to determine the cast and crew."

For those that have joined in late, Deepika also will be co-producing the film, and therefore the actress is cognizant that it'll be no cakewalk but the Padmaavat actress remains confident and is prepared to require the responsibility for the film. "Making the Mahabharat isn't like making the other film. From the size of production to the budget and costumes, it'll pause times longer to execute. I cannot turn it around during a short time-frame. it's my most ambitious project," she said.

On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak alongside Vikrant Massey. The film was supported the real-life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The actress also has Kabir Khan’s 83 within the pipeline alongside Ranveer Singh during which she is going to lay the role of Romi Dev.
