In a recent interview, Tabu opened about how she has always cherished how her work has managed to attach with people at different levels, "It’s really amazing and emotionally intense to ascertain when your work connects with people at such a deeper level, and become significant parts of their lives. once we mention highs and lows, I might definitely count my experiences as great or not so great," Tabu said.
Speaking about the one performance that changed things around for her was the 1996 film Maachis, directed by Gulzar.
Tabu said, "I will always remember the letters I got after Maachis, and a few of the phone calls from Punjab, saying how the film affected them. once they saw the film, the families identified with what had happened (Sikh insurgency in Punjab within the 1980s). numerous of these families had skilled what was shown therein film."
One of the highlights of her career was the very fact that she worked in several other films including films in English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam among others.
"The ones I did, I actually enjoyed. I did my dubbing for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, my recent Telugu film. it had been for the primary time. I even have never dubbed for my Telugu films. This time, I wanted to, and my director Trivikram Srinivas was very encouraging. I'm proud of the results. I wanted my voice to be there, that was an entire experience on my behalf of me. it had been a milestone to possess dubbed my voice!"
