Actors Gossips: IMPPA condemns BMC demolition at Kangana Ranaut’s office, says she shouldnt have spoken on nepotism, substance abuse

While distancing itself from Kangana Ranaut’s statements on substance abuse and nepotism within the movie industry, IMPPA has condemned the part demolition of the actor’s property by the BMC.

After several actors and celebrities came call at actor Kangana Ranaut’s support, the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association has also issued a press release condemning the partial demolition of her Mumbai office by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The organization, however, distanced itself from the actor’s recent comments on the movie industry.

IMPPA president TP Aggarwal said during a handout, “All this stuff is neither good for the govt nor good for Kangana Ranaut. The action taken by the Maharashtra government or BMC is completely wrong and will be condemned. Although the court has stayed the demolition, BMC has already done what that they had to try to to . a minimum of they ought to have given time before demolition. You ask her what's wrong construction and if she had given the solution, they might have broken it if it had been wrong. It never happens that you simply demolish a property on such short notice of 1 day.”

Insisting he doesn't support all of Kangana’s recent statements, he said, “I feel she shouldn't have said some things and one among them is on nepotism. I think that nepotism is everywhere. there's not much of nepotism within the movie industry. If nepotism had been prevalent within the society then Kangana wouldn't are such an enormous star. She said that the whole industry is involved in drugs. If. many of us take drugs, in an industry like this, then the drug mafia in Mumbai should have their share within the movie industry .”

“As far as I think there'll be 5-7 percent of individuals who take drugs and that they are in every field. By calling the movie industry a junkie, you're stopping the funds coming into the industry. Kangana has also spoken wrongly and therefore the people of Shiv Sena have also spoken wrong about her. we should always not swear words for a woman,” he added.

The IMPPA president also said that Kangana’s office must be demolished if there's an illegal construction, adding that there are numerous other unauthorized constructions throughout Mumbai and people should be brought down also.

After the partial demolition, Kangana‘s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui moved the supreme court against the demolition of what the BMC termed as “illegal alterations” at her office. The Bombay supreme court had stayed the demolition drive and asked the BMC to file a reply on her petition within the matter.

The BMC will file their reply to the stop-work notice issued by the Bombay supreme court on Thursday in connection to the demolitions done to the alterations made to the actor’s bungalow in Bandra.

Ever since the videos and news of her office demolition surfaced online, Bollywood celebs voiced their support for Kangana. Kubbra Sait, Swara Bhasker, Onir, Dia Mirza, Rashami Desai, Devoleena Bhattacharya, and filmmaker Hansal Mehta were among the primary ones to condemn the act.
