American singer Nick Jonas, who tied the knot with Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra last year, has been learning a lot about Indian culture and his latest Instagram post celebrating their first Karwa Chauth says it all.

Right from their extravagant wedding ceremony with Indian rituals in Jodhpur, to grooving to Bollywood songs, needless to say, Nick has also been enjoying every bit of these new experiences. And now the occasion of Karwa Chauth has made him learn about the festival, in which married women in India fast the whole day and pray for a long life for their husbands.

Taking to social media, Nick treated his Instafam by posting photos of Karwa Chauth celebrations with his wife Priyanka Chopra.

Actor Jonathan M Tucker, who worked with Nick Jonas in the television drama series Kingdom, commented on the post in Hindi: "Sabse Mahaan Pati".

Even though not in India, Priyanka Chopra celebrated the festival according to Hindu traditions with hubby Nick at the Jonas Brothers concert in San Diego, California.

Priyanka shared a photo with Nick on her account and wrote, "Karwa chauth at a @jonasbrothers concert. Definitely, a first I’ll always remember! @nickjonas #karwachauth." In the picture, Nick can be seen in a checked shirt and Priyanka is wearing the same red saree.


She also shared a sneak-peak of her DIY henna design on her Instagram story.

Priyanka also spent the day with Anusha Dandekar and her other close friends. The actress shared a picture with them on Instagram in which she can be seen in a white shirt, flaunting her sindoor.

Anusha, who was in the background and got blurred, commented, "Hahahahahahaha we look amazing (sic)," In another comment, she cracked a joke saying, "Our beauty is so blinding it got blurred!"

Going by the pictures, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas seem to have enjoyed their first Karwa Chauth together.

Priyanka, who was promoting her film The Sky Is Pink, recently said in an interview that her accent changes every time she gets into an argument with her hubby Nick. She also spoke about how he deals with her in that situation.

"When I get mad, I think in Hindi, anyway, my accent changes every two days. I mean, flight upar jati hai mera accent badal jata hai. So whenever I get angry, my accent becomes so Indian that he can't understand anything and he is like, "what has happened to you suddenly," so he physically changes my direction, and says, 'talk to the wall,' and when I am willing to have a conversation, he moves me back," the actress, who will be celebrating her first wedding anniversary in December, said.

The actor, who is currently busy promoting her Hollywood project Isn’t It Romantic?, shared a new picture from the Los Angeles premiere of the film. The picture had her on the dais, possibly taking media questions and posing for pictures. Standing at the far end of it is Nick, looking attentively at his pretty wife. Priyanka plays a yoga ambassador in the film headlined by Rebel as Natalie, a New York City architect who works hard to get noticed at her job but is more likely to be asked to deliver coffee and bagels than to design the city’s next skyscraper. She is attacked by a mugger and wakes up to discover that her life has become a romantic comedy featuring her as the leading lady.

The film will stream exclusively on Netflix India on February 28 this year.

Nick Jonas celebrates one week of marriage with Priyanka Chopra 

American singer and songwriter Nick Jonas is cherishing every bit of being married to the desi girl of Bollywood Priyanka Chopra, and this latest post is proof of the same.

The 26-year-old singer shared a picture from his Christian wedding on Instagram to celebrate one week of marriage with his ladylove, alongside the caption, "One week ago today @priyankachopra"

In the picture, the much-in-love couple can be seen cutting their 7-tier wedding cake with a sword-like knife as their friends and family watch on.

According to People magazine, the design of the cake is inspired by the art deco style of the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur- the venue of their wedding- and featured a romantic vision of the couple on the crest.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got hitched in two elaborate ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace.

On December 1, they exchanged vows as per Christian traditions and on December 2 they tied the knot as per Hindu wedding rituals.

For the Christian wedding ceremony, the couple opted for stunning Ralph Lauren outfits.

For the Hindu wedding, Priyanka chose to dress in a red Sabyasachi lehenga coupled with diamond jewelry, while Nick looked every bit a 'desi-dulha' in a golden sherwani.

Newlyweds Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas made their first public appearance at Jodhpur airport on Monday afternoon after enjoying four-day-long wedding festivities at the Grand Umaid Bhawan Palace. The couple flew out to Delhi straight from Jodhpur as they have a wedding reception planned in the national capital on Tuesday.

 Joining the festivities were Priyanka's mum Madhu, brother Siddharth, cousin Parineeti, Nick's brothers Kevin and Joe, Sophie Turner, and many other family members.

Meanwhile, residents of Priyanka's hometown Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh celebrated the wedding with sweets and fireworks.

Parameshwar Rai Pandey, the caretaker of Priyanka's ancestral home in Bareilly, said, "Despite not getting any invitation for their bitiyaa's marriage, people of the city illuminated their houses with lights and distributed sweets to celebrate the moment on Saturday."

Crackers were burst and people danced to different songs, Pandey added.

"Through caretaker Parameshwar Pandey, I came to know that people in Bareilly are celebrating Priyanka's marriage," Priyanka's mother Dr. Madhu Chopra told PTI, adding, "I am proud of the residents."

"No wedding cards for the Priyanka-Nick wedding were printed," Dr. Chopra explained. "Only selected persons were invited through the phone. We are getting congratulatory messages from people of Bareilly. Owing to my busy schedule, I am not able to say thanks. Thanks will be conveyed to all as soon as we get time."

Chaman Kumar, who owns a chaat shop in Bareilly's Civil Lines, said, "To celebrate the wedding of Priyanka, a party has been organized for poor children."

Madhvi Mishra, who taught Priyanka at the Army School, conveyed her congratulations to the newlyweds.

Bareilly Mayor Umesh Gautam hosted a cultural programme at a private university to celebrate the occasion.

The city has been the workplace of Priyanka's father Dr. Ashok Chopra and mother. Before shifting to Mumbai, Priyanka's parents used to run the Kasturba Hospital in Bareilly.
