Ranbir Kapoor to play Sanjay Dutt’s son in Karan Malhotra's next?

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play the lead character in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani. Now in an interesting turn of events, Ranbir might just play Sanjay’s son in Karan Malhotra's upcoming movie. 

As per a report in PinkVilla, Sanjay has been approached to play Ranbir’s father in Karan’s next, to be produced under the Yash Raj Films’ banner. For the unversed, Karan had recently signed a three-film deal with YRF.  Considering Ranbir’s last film with YRF was Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009, it would be interesting to see the actor collaborate with the production house after a long time. 

Meanwhile, several recent reports suggested that Vaani Kapoor has been roped in to play the lead role opposite Ranbir. Vaani too has a three-film-deal with YRF, Shuddh Desi Romance and Befikre being the first two. 

On the work front, Ranbir will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The film also features Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Brahmastra is said to be a trilogy with the first part hitting the screens in 2019.
