Chandramukhi Muvvala created history with the upcoming Telangana Elections. She is the first transgender politician in the Telangana state to foray into electoral politics.
Upon filing her nomination, Chandramukhi claimed she always wished to be part of electoral politics and make a difference especially with policy decision in favor of the transgender community. 'I wanted to make politics inclusive so as to change the lives of weaker sections. Whatever the promises politicians make prior to the elections have been neglected to post the elections. This has to change!,' she asserts.
The inspirational move by Chandramukhi might motivate many more transponders to be a part of the electoral politics. This seems to be the first major step towards changing the mindsets of the people.
