Shakeela: Richa Chadha Looks "bold and Fearless" in the First Look Poster

To everyones respite, the first look of Richa Chadha’s upcoming film Shakeel everyone on adult actress Shakeela Khan is out.

The poster of the much-awaited film was shared by Richa on her Instagram handle on Tuesday, which highlights the tagline of the film, ‘Not A Porn Star’, and can see the lovely actress covered in gold necklaces as she stands in front of a wall that is scribbled with flak aimed at her.

From taking a shot at her religion to her passing comments over her weight and colour of the skin, the denunciations fail to affect the actress as she stands “bold and fearless”.

The caption along with the poster reads, "Bold and fearless. PRESENTING THE FIRST LOOK OF #Shakeela! "

Shakeela is the story of Shakeela Khan, an actress who rose to fame with her lead roles in adult films in the south.

Several of the actress' controversial projects in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil languages, were translated into foreign languages like Mandarin and Russian.

It was this popularity which helped her get cameos in star vehicles such as Dhool with Vikram or Vijay starrer Azhagiya Tamizh Magan.

But the success didn’t come easily for the actress as women took to the streets to protest the release of her films in Kerala in the past.

The director of the biopic, Indrajit Lankesh, had earlier in a statement had said that Shakeela Khan will make a cameo in the biopic.

He said, "She has given us such detailed insights into her life. Even Richa got to spend time with her, understand her style of talking, her body language and such nuances. In fact when she came on set, she gave us very interesting insights like about our art direction and how her house was and is in real life, such small details which have helped us."

Shakeela, which is slated to in Summer 2019, was shot in a small village in Karnataka and will also star Rajeev Pillai and Pankaj Tripathi in a pivotal role.

The film is bankrolled by Magic Cinemas and Yoddhas Entertainment.
