The beginning of 2019 has seen Crayola chic taking center stage in B-Town. Crayon-inspired ensembles have brightened up the red carpet in the last couple of weeks. Fashionista Sonam K Ahuja recently sported a rani pink Anamika Khanna creation and Janhvi Kapoor was seen cutting a fine figure in a blue pantsuit. Miss Kapoor has embraced this trend with gusto, as she showed up at an event in a blue sari reminding cine-goers of the iconic look of her late mom Sridevi in the classic Mr India. At Deepika Padukone’s wedding reception, she stole the thunder in a bright yellow Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari proving yet again that she owns these pop tones like no one else.
Doesn’t break the flow of the eye
As there’s no second color or embroidery, it’s a versatile trend. Stylist Eshaa Amiin observes, “You’re not breaking the flow of the eye and the mono hue adds more length, thereby making a person look slimmer. So, it helps you stand out. Ensure that you keep the rest of the look simple. At Deepika’s wedding, Janhvi wore a yellow sari, which was a great pick. All in all, it works beautifully on the Indian skin tone.”
