Watch Videos Aamir Khan digs fields on Labour Day for Paani Foundation in Maharashtra.

Aamir Khan who is touring rural Maharashtra with wife Kiran Rao as part of his Paani Foundation took part in voluntary work (mahashramdaan) and was seen digging fields. See pictures and videos here.


Aamir Khan takes part as a volunteer for an initiative by Paani Foundation on the occasion of Labour Day.

Actor Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have been traveling across Maharashtra as part of their Paani Foundation. On Wednesday, Aamir shared a picture and videos of him digging the ground. This was part of the mahashramdaan (voluntary work) on the occasion of Labour Day (May 1) and Maharashtra Day.



Sharing the pictures, he wrote: “Happy Labour Day!” With another video, he wrote: “Happy Maharashtra Day!” With a second video, he wrote: “Happy Mahashramdaan!” In the picture and video clips, Aamir, wearing a yellow T-shirt and black trousers, is digging a channel on land. In one of them, there is a little girl by his side, helping him pick the debris and stones. In this video, Aamir can be heard telling the girl: “Ekade yaa (come here) in Marathi.”

On Tuesday, Aamir had shared pictures from their travels in the state and in one of them, the couple can be seen relishing fresh sugarcane juice. Sharing the pictures, Aamir wrote: “At Zhawadarjun village yesterday. Stopped for the best ganney-ka-juice on the way there.” In the picture, Aamir and Kiran are seated in a dhaba and are having a mug-full of sugarcane juice each. Aamir has his spectacles on and looks distracted while Kiran looks at him.

In another picture, they posed with the shop owner and his family. He also put pictures as part of his Instagram stories, which showed the couple posing with other people. Paani Foundation has been working to fight water scarcity in rural Maharashtra. As part of it, Aamir had been sharing information on his Instagram page about a programme called #MeJalMitra and has been asking for volunteers on May 1.

Aamir, on April 25, had thanked Madhuri Dixit Nene for stepping in for him in an episode of Toofan Alaya, a Marathi show on the water situation in Maharashtra. Madhuri has stepped in for the actor for the third episode of the show.


Aamir had tweeted the link of the video and captioned it: “Thanks Madhuri Dixit Nene for stepping in for me. I made one request, she was up for it. Too sweet. Please watch. Love. a.” Toofan Alaya is a weekly show that revolves around the water situation in the state and features a mix of Marathi film stars and people telling inspiring stories. It usually features Aamir and Kiran.
