In Dabangg and Dabangg 2, late actor Vinod Khanna played the role of Salman Khan's onscreen father and his character was named Prajapati Pandey. The veteran actor passed away in the year 2017, and his character is something which is one of the most loved in the Dabangg franchise. But for Dabangg 3, in remembrance of VK, the makers have roped in his relative to fill in the actor's shoes in the film.
Yes, Salman took to his Instagram page and announced that Vinod Khanna's brother Pramod Khanna will now play the role of Prajapati Pandey in Dabangg 3. In the video, along with Salman and PK, Sonakshi Sinha and director Prabhudheva are also seen. The superstar captioned the video stating, "Introducing Pramod Khanna . #Dabangg3 @aslisona @prabhudheva". Dabangg 3 will also show glimpses of Chulbul Pandey when he was in his 20s. It will be interesting to see how Pramod Khanna plays the role which his brother made memorable.

As per earlier reports in Mumbai Mirror, Salman is shedding his extra kilos for his younger role in Dabangg 3. Talking about it, a source stated to the tabloid, "In the flashback portions, Chulbul is a man in his 20s, and Salman has been hitting the gym to get the required look." In the flashback scenes, the superstar will be seen romancing another female lead and not Sonakshi Sinha, who plays the role of his onscreen wife Rajjo in the franchise. The source added, "While it’s Rajjo in the current era, the flashback features another actress."
Dabangg 3 is slated to release in December this year.
