As per reports in a portal, after Rahul Bose and JW Mariott fiasco, hotel likely to pay a penalty of Rs 25,000 for charging an exorbitant amount for two bananas.
Earlier this week, Rahul Bose became a trending topic on social media pages after his one video went viral on the Internet. In the video, the actor revealed that during his stay at JW Mariott Hotel in Chandigarh, he was charged Rs 442.50 for two bananas he ordered. Rahul posted a video explaining the whole situation and captioned it stating, "You have to see this to believe it. Who said fruit wasn’t harmful to your existence? Now as per reports in Daily Pioneer, JW Marriott is likely to pay Rs 25,000 as a penalty for charging an exorbitant amount to Rahul for two bananas. Talking about it, an officer said to the portal, "A day before, the team of UT Excise and Taxation Department had also seized documents related to the sale in the hotel to check whether they have been depositing regularly the relevant tax to the department or not. They also revealed that fresh fruits come under tax-free items and the authorities at JW Marriott violated the rules. RK Chaudhary, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner and his team have asked the hotel authorities to submit a reply on the overpriced fruit.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rahul was last seen in Kamal Haasan starrer Vishwaroopam II which released last year. He also directed a biographical adventure film titled Poorna: Courage Has No Limit released in 2017.
