Moments ahead of the soft landing, Vikram Lander of Chandrayaan-2 lost communication with the ground station at the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) center in Bengaluru but celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar hailed the space center for its stupendous effort.

Chandrayaan-2 is the second lunar mission developed by Indian Space Research Organisation after Chandrayaan 1, which was launched in 2008. Chandrayaan 2 mission took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 22.
Isro lost communication with Vikram lander minutes before it was scheduled to land near the south pole of the Moon.
