Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, and other Bollywood celebrities tweeted that they are "proud of Isro".

Moments ahead of the soft landing, Vikram Lander of Chandrayaan-2 lost communication with the ground station at the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) center in Bengaluru but celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar hailed the space center for its stupendous effort.

Akshay Kumar, who played scientist Rakesh Dhawan in his latest film Mission Mangal, wrote, "There’s no science without experiment...sometimes we succeed, sometimes we learn. Salute to the brilliant minds of @isro, we are proud and confident #Chandrayaan2 will make way for #Chandrayaan3 soon. We will rise again."

Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter and motivated the scientists of Isro.

"Sometimes we don’t land or arrive at the destination we want to. The important thing is we took off and had the hope and belief we can. Our current situation is never and not our final destination. That always comes in time and belief! Proud of #ISRO," tweeted SRK.

PM Narendra Modi shared that the whole nation is proud of the efforts made by Isro for Vikram Lander in his encouraging tweet.

Chairman @isro gave updates on Chandrayaan-2. We remain hopeful and will continue working hard on our space program.


Chandrayaan-2 is the second lunar mission developed by Indian Space Research Organisation after Chandrayaan 1, which was launched in 2008. Chandrayaan 2 mission took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 22.

Isro lost communication with Vikram lander minutes before it was scheduled to land near the south pole of the Moon.
