HyderabadRains: Tollywood celebrities toss off with donations

The unprecedented rains created havoc in Hyderabad. There was an enormous loss of property and life. The rescue operations are happening at one hand but the incessant rains are creating more troubles.

The Telangana government has stepped up the relief work and has announced to supply Rs 10K financial assistance to each damaged house in Hyderabad. However thanks to Covid-19, the Telangana government is experiencing a severe shortage of funds. Accordingly, Telangana CM KCR has appealed to the Centre to supply immediate assistance of Rs 1350 crore but there's no response from New Delhi.

Instead of expecting the Centre’s response, CM KCR has appealed to industrialists and other people to form donations. Responding thereto, Tollywood has come to the fore. Several celebrities have announced their individual contribution.

Megastar Chiranjeevi, Superstar Mahesh Babu announced 1 Cr and hero Vijay Deverakonda have announced Rs 10 Lakhs to CMRF while Young Tiger Jr NTR, King Nagarjuna has announced Rs 50 lakh donation. Haarika & Hassine Creations alongside director Trivikram Srinivas have announced Rs 5 Lakh donation. Directors Harish Shankar and Anil Ravipudi too made Rs 5 Lakh donation.
