Exclusive: Salman to Remake Telugu Movie 'Loukyam'

Ever since Bollywood Box office behemoth Salman Khan relied on Mahesh Babu's industry hit film, 'Pokiri' (remade in Hindi as 'Wanted') to resurrect his career, he has kept a keen eye on blockbuster Telugu films. Next, he remade Srinu Vytla's super hit family entertainer 'Ready', Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Stalin:" and Ravi Teja's "Kick". The star hero is now all set to remake another blockbuster Telugu entertainer.
Gulte has exclusively learnt from our sources that Salman Khan has long ago started the background work to remake Gopichand's hit comedy, 'Loukyam'. Reports have emerged recently that Salman would act in a film penned by noted Telugu film writer Kona Venkat. We have learnt that Kona is indeed working on a script for Salman Khan, but he is not penning an original script.

Actually, impressed by the entertainment quotient in Gopichand's "Loukyam", Salman has asked Kona Venkat to adapt the story to suit the sensibilities of Bollywood audience, keeping his larger than life image in mind. Kona is currently adapting the script of Loukyam, which was originally penned by another Telugu writer, Sridhar Sipana.

Salman has particularly approached Kona since the latter had earlier worked on the adaptation of "Ready" for Hindi remake. Impressed with his work, Salman has asked him to adapt "Loukyam" for Bollywood.

Released in 2014, "Loukyam", starring Gopichand and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles, became a super hit. Despite a done to death story, the film banked largely on the comedy tracks featuring Brahmanandam and Prudhvi to entertain audience throughout.
