Current News: 27 CRPF Jawans Killed, Many Injured In IED Blast!

At least 27 CRPF Jawans were killed and many others suffered injuries on Thursday afternoon in an IED (improvised explosive device) blast happened in Lethpora Area of Pulwama, south Kashmir. Two CRPF Vehicles (a car & a bus) were severely damaged due to the high intensity of the blast.

IED Blast took place at around 3 pm when the CRPF Jawans were traveling in a convoy on the highway. A vehicle carrying explosives rammed into the CRPF Convoy. All the injured were rushed to the hospital.

Terror organization Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack on CRPF Jawans terming it as a suicide blast. As per JeM, Terrorist Adil Ahmad Dar alias Waqas carried out the blast. It's not yet clear whether Adil was in the vehicle or not at the time of the explosion.

Indian Army sealed the highway immediately after the IED Blast. A probe has been launched to verify if the IED was planted on a vehicle and operated by Adil Ahmad Dar from a distance when it neared the CRPF Convoy.
