Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Balakot strikes saying, he suggested that clouds could help Indian fighter jets to escape the radars from Pakistan. He blamed the bad weather on the day's airstrikes. Ergo, his comment over believing that clouds and heavy rain prevented Pakistani radars from detecting Indian jets have received brutal trolls and memes from netizens and backlash from the opposition leaders.
PM Modi claimed that when experts were in dilemma about launching the Balakot operation in the bad weather, he suggested about clouds preventing radar detection. ''The weather suddenly turned bad, there were clouds and heavy rain. There was a doubt about whether we can go in the clouds. The experts said to change the date. But I have two things in mind. One was secrecy and second, I said I am not someone who knows the science. I said there is so much cloud and rain. There is a benefit. I have a raw vision, the clouds can benefit us too. We can escape the radar. Everyone was confused and finally, I said there are clouds... let's proceed."
After BJP official twitter page posted the same, netizens took the opportunity to roast his ideology and later, BJP has removed the tweet. Congress spokesperson Salman Soz said on Twitter, "It seems no one clarified for the PM how radars work. If that is the case, then it is a very serious national security issue. No laughing matter."Sitaram Yechury tweeted, ''National security is not something to be trifled with. Such an irresponsible statement from Modi is highly damaging. Somebody like this can't remain India's PM.''
