Bollywood’s numero uno actor Salman Khan is currently promoting his Eid offering Bharat. His next release after the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is Dabangg 3, which is slated to open in cinemas on December 20.

Post-July, the 53-year-old will start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah, in which he stars opposite the 26-year-old Alia Bhatt. This film is meant to be his Eid 2020 release. Despite such a chock-a-block schedule, the industry folk and fans alike are wondering about Salman’s next venture.

Ali is said to be working on the script of Tiger 3 — a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) for the Dabangg Khan. However, the superstar says it is wrong to assume that he will definitely do the third part of the espionage thriller franchise after he finishes SLB’s film. “I’ve come across some very interesting scripts,” he tells us. He adds further, “I may do one of those before I start Tiger 3.”

When we quiz him about the rumor that Rohit Shetty and he may collaborate, SK quips, “Why is it a rumor? Rohit and I have talked about working together. There is nothing definite yet. If our talks materialize into something, you’ll hear about it.” Hmmm... the suspense on whether the Simmba director and the Race 3 actor collaborate in the near future continues. However, we can just say that the speculation is not completely unfounded.

SUPERHIT MACHINE MEETS DABANGG KHAN

Rohit Shetty has previously directed Salman Khan for the promos of Bigg Boss Season 8. In the campaign, the Dabangg Khan played a pilot. One of the ads had Salman lying on the conveyor belt and talking about the contestants.

Salman Khan’s stardom is not something that is hidden from the world. He might give many flops, but even then, his fans would go and watch his upcoming release and be equally excited for it.

It was a pleasant surprise to know that these fans exist not only in India but also China. The Chinese audiences are so fond of him that they included his Bodyguard poster on their TV show. The TV show in China, called ‘The Beautiful Bodyguards: Hot Girls’, is a story about female bodyguards. The still shows a male bodyguard training them against the poster stuck at the entrance door.

Salman’s popularity in China began when his movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan released there. While the movie wasn’t as well received as it was in India, Salman definitely gained some more fans.

  Last seen in Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 with Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, and Anil Kapoor, Salman will now appear in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Eid release Bharat. The movie stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role with Sunil Grover, Tabu, Nora Fatehi, Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. It will mark Ali, Salman and Katrina’s second film together post their blockbuster hit Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017.

Apart from Bharat, Salman also has Dabangg 3, Wanted 2, Kick 2, film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rohit Shetty respectively, at hand. His movie Bodyguard, which was a tribute to his own bodyguard Shera, released in theatres back in the year 2011.

A few weeks ago, speculations were rife that after Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is planning to make a movie with his two favorite Khans, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan. While the auteur filmmaker began his innings with Khamoshi: The Musical (1996) and followed it up with Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), both with Salman, his third directorial Devdas, starred SRK in the title role.

While in the interim, there was news of him teaming up with Salman and SRK for different subjects, nothing materialized. Until these reports of him bringing both the Khans on screen together. Interestingly, Bhansali, who are known to keep a low profile and not attend many events, was seen having a good time at Salman’s birthday celebrations at the latter’s Panvel farmhouse on Thursday. Now, we hear that the filmmaker is indeed planning a project with the two Khans. “Sanjay is contemplating a subject like Saudagar, in which Salman and Shah Rukh play friends who have a fallout and become sworn enemies, only to let bygones be bygones towards the end of the story to reunite against a common enemy and for greater good,” says our source, adding, “However, he’s being utmost cautious that it’s not seen as inspired by Subhash Ghai’s 1991 superhit starring Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar.”

Well, if SLB cracks it, then it would be interesting to see Salman and SRK do a full-fledged film together after Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002).

Salman Khan who is currently working on Bharat with Ali Abbas Zafar is in also in news for his next, Dabangg 3. We informed you earlier that Arbaaz Khan who is producing the movie is done with the look test and was eyeing at 2019 Christmas release of the film. But there seems to be a slight change in the plans as sources close to the film have informed that Salman Khan does not want to take any chance as far as the script of the movie is concerned and is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that it is watertight. He seems to have instructed his team to work hard on the script as the current box office trend is all about good content rather than massive star cast and a holiday release.

The source reveals that Salman is getting cautious from the way big-ticket movies like Jab Harry Met Sejal, Tubelight, Race 3 and Thugs Of Hindostan have suffered and does not want to take a further risk with Dabangg 3.

It is now clear that masses do not want the script of the film to be compromised, despite the big star cast and grand production value. Also, it is interesting to note that movies like Badhaai Ho and Stree have become hits this year. Insiders claim that Salman Khan wants to make sure the script is good and therefore is not eyeing for the 2019 Christmas release.

It is now highly plausible that the movie might release in 2020 and not in December 2019, as planned. It sure is a welcome trend if this happens. Because it just means that makers will be more careful with the content that they are offering to the masses.

Several #MeToo stories are coming to the fore with the names of Bollywood biggies being called out and accused of sexual harassment, rape or misconduct.

As the campaign is gaining momentum, in a fresh set of allegations, former Bigg Boss contestant Pooja Misra has shared her story too and has expressed her ordeal through a series of videos posted on her Instagram handle.

In a shocking set of allegations, according to a report by India Times, the former model-VJ has accused Salman Khan and his brothers- Arbaaz and Sohail of raping her, Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha of harassing her and Malaika Arora Khan of being jealous of her and snatching away projects from her kitty.

In fact, she has alleged that all these celebrities have exploited and harassed her both mentally and physically, and have even destroyed her life and career, and pushed her to an extent that she is suicidal.

It doesn't end here. Pooja also alleges that Shatrughan Sinha used black magic on her so that his daughter Sonakshi Sinha could prosper.

Pooja Misra has claimed that Salman, Arbaaz, and Sohail raped her on multiple occasions and have ruined her career, health and she has yet not recovered from the loss.

The model further, in the series of videos that she has shared on her social media alleges that Shatrughan Sinha has hacked her phone and laptop to steal her creative ideas, which were used to lift up Sonakshi and Malaika's career. She also claimed that because the veteran actor has used black magic on her, she is being haunted by ghosts.

She has also alleged that his father was killed by them.

India's biggest fitness icon Salman Khan has acquired the 100% manufacturing rights of India's largest fitness equipment company Jerai Fitness. The company has been in existence for over 25 years and supplies to almost over a 100 gyms a month across the country.

The new venture will aim to have a wide reach and create fitness awareness along with educating people about the importance of being fit and healthy.

Salman Khan envisions to make fitness affordable to every Indian with Made in India, state-of-the-art fitness equipment. He would like to reach every village, town and city in India which can also create job opportunities for fitness entrepreneurs and sportspersons of the country.

Taking the Fit India movement further, this joint venture will be launching the New Fitness Equipment Brand on the 12th to 14th, October 2018 at the IHFF Health and Fitness Expo, NSE Grounds, Mumbai.

Salman Khan is currently busy hosting Bigg Boss season 12 and is climbing up on popularity charts as usual with his funny antics on the show. While his television commitments are on, she also is concentrating on his film at hand: Bharat. Apart from this, we also was running pillar to post promoting LoveYatri with Aayush Sharma and leading lady Warina Hussain. While Bhai is busy with his projects, his brother in law and producer of Bharat Atul Agnihotri took to social media to share a throwback picture of Salman Khan from the sets of Bharat from Abu Dhabi. Here, Salman is casually chilling on the sets dressed in maroon pants and a black ganji.

He looks effortlessly stylish in the pic but what’s more? He drops a major hint about his sequence with Varun Dhawan with this still. So, before sharing this picture, Atul had shared one more picture with Varun thanking him for doing a special appearance role in the movie. If you look at both pics, Salman and Varun are twinning in black ganjis. This means that both Varun and Salman will either have a Judwaa reference or something similar to brotherhood.

Salman’s LoveYatri is doing lukewarm business at the box office and did not seem to impress masses that much. Salman will be busy with Dabangg 3 after finishing his current commitments. Bharat will come out in June and starts Katrina Kaif in lead role with Salman. Jackie Shroff will play his father. The film will also star Sunil Grover and Disha Patani.

Salman Khan is enjoying the cool ocean breeze in his garden. Looking super-relaxed after a yummy home-cooked lunch, he invites us to chat with him about his next production LoveYatri, a film in which he introduces two newcomers, Aayush Sharma, and Warina Hussain.

Sipping on his black coffee as we drink our ginger tea, the actor-producer takes us through his role as a mentor to several upcoming newbies.

You seem committed to launching new talent; the latest being Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain.

Back in the day, I was a newcomer looking for that magical break. I was fortunate that the makers of Biwi Ho Toh Aisi (1988) and Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)  gave me the opportunity. Today, I’m in a position to introduce youngsters. If a film is made within the right budget and the boy and the girl have a spark, it’s okay to produce it. Initially, there was a fear to back a newcomer because the money is yours and so is the responsibility. Earlier, everybody was more forgiving. Today, everything is put under a microscope. If you introduce talent, you need to invest in them and ensure that they put their best foot forward. Even before the film releases, someone has a problem with the title, there’s social media, some or the other story is coming out, so it’s difficult to keep up and ensure everything stays in place. Production-wise, if you can make the movie within the right budget, you will land safely. The satellite and digital rights fetch enough for you to cover the costs. However, what is important to me is to make a nice product and ensure that it’s a safe bet.

When did you first spot that spark in Aayush?

It was Sohail (Khan) who first mentioned Aayush to me, long before I had met him. We were planning a film called My Punjabi Nikaah. Sohail said that he had seen this boy at the gym. He didn’t know his name but felt he was apt for the film. Cut to the point when Aayush came home to ask for Arpita’s hand in marriage. We were called to meet him and while we were standing, Sohail whispered that this was the same guy whom he had suggested for My Punjabi Nikaah. That’s how the whole thing started. I joked to myself saying, “Ab toh yeh picture free mein karega,” (laughs). That was it. He’s a hard-working boy, he spent four years with me and worked on Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Tubelight and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). So being with me, he has seen how one works. He is into photography and is also a film buff. So, instead of someone else launching him, we felt it was best for us to give him a break under our banner. I know people will start a debate on — what’s so great about giving a break to someone from the family, etc. But honestly, I don’t give a damn about what people say. I’m of the view that he is our boy, our talent, if we don’t have the confidence to launch him, how can anyone else do the same?

You are damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Something like that. There were big guys who wanted to sign him, but we had a beautiful subject. I asked him to hear it and told him that if he liked it, we would be happy to produce it. In the interval itself, Aayush said that this was something up his alley. The movie is not about him fighting 10 guys, it’s got romantic scenes, it’s a contemporary subject, it’s got superb music, there are no sex, vulgarity or double-meaning dialogues, it’s clean pure content.

How about Warina?

Both the boy and the girl are really good. The way they have danced, their chemistry on screen, the way Abhiraj K Minawala has shot the film, it’s great. Warina is a fabulous actress, she is a natural. She is superb even in the most difficult scenes.

You launched Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in Hero (2015). You’ve also signed on newbies Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Behl. 

It takes time to find and nurture new talent. You also need immense faith and patience. Sometimes, the boy and girl do not work in their first film. However, if you are committed to them, you cannot say, ‘Isko mat lo, yeh nahin chala, woh nahin chala.’ You can’t leave them.

You have a dedicated talent-management division, too.

Being Talented (our talent management company) has a slightly different way of working as compared to others. We support newcomers and since we also have a production house, we make films with them. At the same time, they can also do outside movies. We’re not fixated on numbers, it’s about finding newbies and nurturing them.

This is yet another facet to you. Besides, Salman the superstar, Salman the producer, you are now Salman the mentor, Godfather?

These guys are really good. Please, I am no Godfather. I’m their mentor. If someone comes to me, saying mujhe launch kar do, I’m not going to do it instantly. Till the time I don’t see the spark, dedication and devotion to their craft, I don't think about it. These are the guys I have seen, they are hardworking. I’ve seen Zaheer preparing since Jai Ho (2014). There’s no angst or frustration about waiting. Aayush also has been ready for a long time. The way they have maintained their bodies and worked hard makes me proud. Zaheer was an assistant with me like Sooraj and Aayush. I was an AD for four films before I became an actor. There are no shortcuts; ki koi aapko launch kar de.

You believe in investing in them forever...

My job is to sign them and give them important films. Their job is to use the opportunity well and stay invested in themselves. I gave a break to a girl who was not doing too well in her career with one of my big films. It was a runaway hit, but instead of capitalizing on the success, she went ahead and got married. That becomes a waste. Marriage is a good thing. All girls and boys must marry. However, the point I am making is that if you fritter away a chance or if you don’t utilize an opportunity given to you to the fullest, it becomes slightly disappointing. Believe me, it’s hard to find a big break. There are hundreds of thousands who pray, leave everything behind and come looking for that break. If you are fortunate to get one, do not let it become a wasted opportunity. Please use it. That focus has to be there.

Do you think star kids are less focussed than outsiders or say, sons of technicians like you who is a script writer's son or Ajay Devgn who is an action director’s son?

One cannot generalize. Star kids may get a break faster than others, but they also work hard to keep up. One must know that the real education in the industry doesn’t come from affluence. It comes from not looking at life through rose-tinted glasses.

Do you ever feel burdened while launching new talent?

No, on the contrary, I feel much lighter. There are so many films you want to do, but you can’t because you don’t have the dates. These guys will take up those movies. Earlier, we used to act in six-to-eight films a year. I don’t know how we managed, but today, even if we want to, we can’t.

So, you’re planning to stick to acting in three movies a year?
Three looks difficult. I manage to do two a year (smiles).

After Bharat, you’ve got Dabangg 3? 

Yeah, I’m going to jump straight out of Bharat set onto the Dabangg 3 one. (laughs).
