Urvasi Urvasi is a fast melody by AR Rahman from his early days in Premikudu movie directed by Shankar. The movie got dubbed in Hindi and song became a huge hit there too.
After 25 years, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani acted in the remix of the song done by Yo Yo Honey Singh. The song was remixed with a very bad taste for electronics.
AR Rahman made it a timeless classic song that even today, it is an identity for him and Prabhudeva. But this remix tries to give importance to beats like a party song and kills the melody that really made it so popular.
Had AR Rahman himself tried to re-mix it, he might have looked to re-arrange instruments to balance the beats and melody. But Yo-Yo showed his immaturity here and the song is a huge mess.
Even though Kiara and Shahid had chemistry it did not work well in favor of the concept of the song and even dance is underwhelming.
