Narasimha Reddy has done a stunning business on its first week in the release centers across the globe. Reportedly, the movie has collected a share of over Rs 100 crore, which is indeed a big achievement. The Chiranjeevi starrer has joined the league of Telugu movies in the prestigious 100-crore club. Importantly, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has turned out to be the eighth Telugu movie to join the list. Baahubali

Khaidi No.150, which marked Chiranjeevi's comeback to films after a long break, did a commendable business in theatres. The film is expected to have collected a share of Rs 102 crore in its final run.

Baahubali 2 


Baahubali 2, which released in 2017, was bound to break all the box office records and it rightly did so. The biggest-ever hit in the history of Telugu cinema is not only the proud member of the 100-crore share club but also is the topper in the list by miles.

Rangasthalam 


Rangasthalam, the Ram Charan starrer, directed by Sukumar, was a film that won both critical and commercial success. The movie emerged as the first film of Ram Charan's to go past the 100-crore share mark at the worldwide box office.

Bharat Ane Nenu 


Bharat Ane Nenu, which released in the same year which year, had a dream run at the box office. Saaho, the big-budget venture of Prabhas, went on to make an entry to the 100-crore club in the first week itself. The Hindi version of the film also did a good business.

Apart from members of Allu Arjun’s family, the party was also attended by Akkineni Akhil, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Srikanth and Navdeep among others.

At the box-office, the film had a terrific run in its opening weekend, grossing over Rs 300 crore worldwide.

Directed by Surender Reddy, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is the story of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy and his fight against the British for independent India.

The film, produced by Ram Charan on a budget of Rs 275 crore, also stars Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty and Nayanthara.



On signing the project, Chiranjeevi had said it was his long-time desire to play a historic character.

“It has always been my dream to play Bhagat Singh. Despite being offered the role back then, I couldn’t play it for several reasons and it was later played by several of my counterparts. It was played by several actors across languages. I regret missing out on an opportunity to play the role because I don’t think anyone wants to make a film on him today,” Chiranjeevi said.

The film, which was also released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, has music by Amit Trivedi. Originally, AR Rahman was signed for the project but he opted out citing lack of time due to other commitments.

The makers of Megastar Chiranjeevi's forthcoming magnum opus 'Sye Raa Narasimhareddy' may not have promoted the film's audio album much. However, just the title song composed by Bollywood music director Amit Trivedi is taking the hype to the next level.

After the audio version, Sye Raa's team today unveiled the video song of the film's title track, O Sye Raa. While the audio version itself was goosebump inducing, the video version takes the energy and fervour to the hilt, as a ferocious Chiru as Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy wipes out the British forces.

O Sye Raa showcases the film's leading ladies Tamannaah and Nayanthara narrating Narasimhareddy's valour and his love for his homeland. Rathnavelu's spellbinding action and war visuals that blended seamlessly with the pulsating vocals by Bollywood playback singers Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal and the rousing orchestration are the major highlights of O Sye Raa.

Needless to say, expectations on Sye Raa will touch the sky with the release of this video song. The makers of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy unveiled the teaser of their film recently. The power-packed promo unleashed a side of Chiranjeevi which was never seen before. In the movie, the megastar plays a brave warrior who was the first rebel against the British.

A well-known shot of Chiranjeevi is where he comes out on his horse after hiding in the bushes, only to kill his enemies. The megastar was full power in that scene, and the makers of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy have once again unveiled a new still from the film which exhibits as much power as the scene.

In the new still, Chiranjeevi, who plays the role of Narasimha Reddy, sits on his horse and rocks the warrior avatar. He carries two bloodied swords along with him and a dagger around his waist. He looks as fierce and blazing as the war scenario in the background of the image. Talking about horse riding, the megastar, at the teaser launch held in Mumbai, revealed, "The make-up took one hour. Action sequences were the difficult part. I already have a bad shoulder, I got it operated. Riding the horse was hard. But I believe in hard work, and I cherish it. By 7:00 am we started shooting, so I used to get up at 4:00 am, work out for an hour and then start working on the film."

Actor Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a guest appearance, has been in the making for almost two years and is now prepping for release. Following a new trend, the film will release in Hindi too and will be distributed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and Anil Thadani’s AA Films. In the run-up to it, a new video was unveiled, where Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy makers showcased all the principle characters.

Taking to Twitter, Farhan wrote: “Excel Entertainment and AA Films proudly present the EPIC #SyeRaaNarasimhaReddy in association with Konidela Productions starring the GREATEST Indian ensemble cast of all time.” He also shared a video which shows the character portraits of Amitabh Bachchan, Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah Bhatia, Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep and Tamil actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara among others.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy will narrate the story of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy with Chiranjeevi playing the titular role.

While Amitabh is believed to be playing Chiranjeevi’s mentor, Sudeep will be seen as a character called Avuku Raju, perhaps a warlord. Vijay Sethupathi will play a character called Raaja Paandi. Tamannaah will play a character called Lakshmi while Nayanthara will be seen playing Queen Siddhamma.

For Excel Entertainment this will be the second time they will be distributing a south Indian film. They had successfully distributed Kannada film KGF, starring actor Yash in the lead.

From the last couple of weeks, there are rumors everywhere that Megastar Chiranjeevi's forthcoming magnum opus is going to miss the release date. Though #SyeRaa is said to be scheduled for October 2nd, the buzz has that the film is likely to move into Sankranthi 2020 battle. How far this is correct?


Though the makers of Sye Raa haven't given any clarity over this, megastar Chiranjeevi himself spoke about it in an interview. He clarified with his daughter in law Upasana Kamineni that the arrival of Sye Raa on October 2nd, which happens to be Gandhi Jayanthi, is a sort of tribute of like thing after making a patriotic film. In fact, these words reaffirm that the Surender Reddy directed film is set for October 2nd release only.


And the big question many ask after this indirect clarification is that why Sye Raa promotions are not started. Actually many films including another big-budgeted movie Saaho are eating away the promotion space for now, so what is the point in putting Sye Raa in between them?
